Leak Detection
Leako Leak Detection provides expert water supply pipe leak detection, locating hidden underground and mains water leaks quickly with minimal disruption.
If you have received a leak notice from your local water supplier or a Section 75. Then it is possible they believe you may have a leak. In order to obtain a true reflection of what is happening you need to locate your external water meter and carry out a "water meter flow test" where you inspect the central cog or digital display for any signs of usage. Wether that's by the digits going up, cog movement or a digital display indicator. Ensure all internal services, tanks, washing machines and toilets are all full and not running before checking. If you have continual usage, then you may have a leak. Please ensure to check all internal toilet overflows, tanks and taps before assuming an underground pipe leak is present.

Acoustic profiling is a highly effective, non-invasive leak detection method used to identify hidden leaks within underground water supply pipes. By using advanced acoustic listening equipment, our engineers can detect the unique sound frequencies created by escaping water, accurately tracing the leak's location without unnecessary excavation.
Tracer gas testing is one of the most accurate, non-invasive methods for locating hidden water leaks in underground and concealed pipework. A safe, non-toxic mixture of 95% nitrogen and 5% hydrogen is introduced into the isolated pipework. As the gas escapes through the leak, it rises to the surface where our highly sensitive detection equipment accurately pinpoints the leak's exact location.
Pressure testing is a reliable diagnostic method used to determine whether a plumbing or water supply system has a leak. By isolating sections of the pipework and applying controlled water or air pressure, our engineers monitor for any pressure loss over a set period. A drop in pressure indicates that a leak is present within the tested section, allowing us to narrow down the affected area before using specialist leak detection equipment to pinpoint the exact location.
A water meter flow test is a simple but highly effective way to determine whether a property has a hidden water leak. By monitoring your water meter while all taps, appliances, and water outlets are switched off, our engineers can identify continuous water flow that indicates water is escaping somewhere within the plumbing system or underground supply pipe.
